Operation Gobble

Newly-elected state Senator Tony Mendoza (D-Artesia) kicked off the holidays by distributing 300 Thanksgiving turkeys on Monday to local charity groups and civic organizations, including Downey PTA H.E.L.P.S. “Operation Gobble enables organizations to distribute turkeys to those most in need,” said Mendoza, who is pictured with PTA H.E.L.P.S. director Beth Gendreau  and Downey Mayor Pro Tem Luis Marquez.
