Bellflower coach arrested on suspicion of sex assaults on teen girls

BELLFLOWER - A prominent youth sports coach from Bellflower was arrested Thursday on suspicion of sexual assaults on teenage girls in Santa Ana and Riverside County.

Christopher Flores, 37, was arrested about 11:30 a.m. in Bakersfield, said Santa Ana police Sgt. Maria Lopez.

Flores is a coach-trainer at Stars Prep Academy in Orange, Lopez said.

He is accused of assaults on a 14-year-old girl in Santa Ana and a 15- year-old girl in Riverside, Lopez said. He is also accused of having sexual relations involving the 14-year-old girl throughout 2021 in various parts of Santa Ana, including at a camp at Calvary Chapel.

According to ESPN, Flores was accused of rape in 2010 but was acquitted after a 17-day trial.
