OASIS class is cancelled

DOWNEY - Downey Adult School's OASIS program will have its final meeting Monday and the public, regardless of age, is welcome to attend "and say goodbye."Program director Harriett Paine, 89, has also announced her retirement. For several years OASIS has served as a gathering spot for the city's elderly population. Guest speakers and entertainers are invited every Monday, and visitors pay a nominal fee for a dinner. Monday's final meeting begins at 2 p.m.
