Nolan Hubbs funeral Saturday

DOWNEY – Downey resident and World War II veteran Nolan Hubbs passed away March 3. He was 98. He was born Oct. 29, 1916 in Equality, Ill. to Joseph and Bessie (Stricklin) Hubbs. He was the second of 12 children, including six brothers and five sisters.

Nolan was a WWII veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Portland.

He is survived by two sisters and two brothers; a son; one granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis.

Graveside services are scheduled for March 28 at 3 p.m. at Rose Hills Memorial Park.
