New voting centers are topic of community meeting

DOWNEY — A community meeting has been scheduled for May 18 to discuss new voting centers that will be used in 2020 elections.

Although the meeting will take place in Hawaiian Gardens, the meeting’s focus areas cover Downey, Norwalk, Bellflower, Cerritos, Hawaiian Gardens, Lakewood, Long Beach and Paramount.

Starting in 2020, L.A. County voters can vote at any vote center throughout the county over an 11-day period, including at mobile and pop-up vote centers.

Vote-by-mail drop box locations will be available for 29 days.

The community meeting is from 9-11 a.m. at the C. Robert Lee Activity Center. The address is 21815 Pioneer Blvd. in Hawaiian Gardens.
