Neighborhood watch

Dear Editor: I would like to publicly thank the Downey Police Department and Downey Fire Department for attending our local neighborhood watch meeting last week and for providing such wonderful information to our neighbors.

Specifically, Det. Del Rio and Det. Galindo, as well as four members of our fire department, along with two ambulance drivers. They took the time to speak with our residents about standing guard during the holidays and presented many tips to keep us safe.

The fire department presented us with first-hand sidewalk CPR information and training.

We are so fortunate to have these outstanding people wear the Downey badge and representing our city. We are proud and thank all the members of the Downey Police Department and Downey Fire Department.
