Negative influence

Dear Editor:What a terribly unpleasant column. Dr. Mark Hendrickson makes it sound as if anyone who practices energy conservation is a sucker and that we should all use as much as we feel like. ("A Moment of Illumination," 1/22/10) How unfortunate that he has to wait a few minutes for his outdoor light to warm up. I'm sorry to see that he is a faculty member at a city college; it appears as if he couldn't possibly be any sort of positive influence to a student. In his column he comes across to me as a terrible, self-centered individual filled with anger. I feel sorry for anyone who has to spend any time around him. - Gary E. Myers, Downey
