Mile-long yard sale returns July 10

DOWNEY — After a one-year hiatus, Downey’s “Mile-Long Yard Sale” returns for its 20th year on July 10. 

The yard sale was started in 2001 by residents of Pangborn Avenue as a way to meet their other neighbors living along the mile-long street. 

The yard sale has since become a community staple, taking place the second Saturday of every July. 

Hundreds of shoppers usually attend to stroll Pangborn Avenue and its side streets. More than 30 homes typically participate in the sale. 

The yard sale starts at 7 am and winds down at 2 pm.
