Matthew ‘Matt’ LeRoy

June 20, 1963 - January 1, 2020

Matthew ‘Matt’ LeRoy was born in Inglewood, California on June 20, 1963 and died January 1, 2020 at his home in Bonita, California. He grew up in Downey, California graduating from Downey High School in 1981. He attended college at Point Loma in San Diego later transferring to San Diego State. While at San Diego State, he and a friend, Deric Haddad, became interested in the McMartin case in Manhattan Beach. They co-authored a book “They Must Be Monsters.”
Matt was an entrepreneur having a toy manufacturing business, a company for testing liquid penetrants in the ndt industry and an exporting business with his wife, Brenda.
He loved planning and traveling on vacations with his family around the world.
Matt is survived by his wife, Brenda; daughters, Gabriella ‘Gabby’ and Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ LeRoy; mother, Deneen LeRoy and his father, Carl LeRoy who preceded him in death; sister, Whitney and brother-in-law, Gary Johnson. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
