March Happenings
I was reading the newspaper front page. There was a picture of purple and yellow wildflowers in Lancaster.
On Sunday, we drove to Lancaster to see the colorful wildflowers. We could not find any. We stopped for lunch at a restaurant and I asked the waiter, “Where are the wildflowers?”
“There aren’t any,” he answered.
Monday morning I called the newspaper and asked where the wildflowers were.
“That picture was taken last year,” the clerk said. What a terrible thing.
The next week, we drove to Washington, D.C. to see the museums. Then we went looking for the cherry blossoms. No cherry blossoms.
The following week, we took the train from New Jersey to New York to see the Easter Parade. We got off the train and guess what? It snowed, no Easter Parade.
Next year in March, I’m looking forward to seeing wildflowers, cherry blossoms and the Easter Parade.
