Loretta Brown passes away

Former longtime Downey resident Loretta Brown passed away July 3 in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. 

Loretta was born Sept. 1, 1935 in Turner, Kans. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Tom; her four children, Kathy, Karen, Kenny and Ralph; two granddaughters, Danielle (Sammy) Garcia and Alexandra Brown; one great-grandson, Tino; her sister, Joan Ward; and her brother, Donald Moore.

Loretta (Downey High class of 1953) and Tom (Downey High class of 1951) grew up in Downey and were high school sweethearts. They raised their family in Downey in the 1960's-1980's and retired to Arizona in the 1990's.

A memorial service is planned for Thursday, July 9, at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Lake Havasu City, Ariz.
