Little leagues holding sign-ups

DOWNEY – Northwest Downey Little League will hold early registration Nov. 15, Dec. 6 and Dec. 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Furman Park. Registration is $80 per child for kids ages 4-7, $95 for ages 8-12 and $110 for ages 13-16, with discounts for multiple children.

Kids of all abilities are welcome. There is also a Challenger Division for physically-challenged players.

Try-outs will be held Jan. 17, and Opening Day is Feb. 28.

West Downey Little League will hold early bird registration for its 2015 season Sunday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Stauffer Middle School campus.

Parents should download a registration packet from the West Downey Little League website and bring it to sign-ups, along with a certified birth certificate and three forms of proof of residency.

Cost is $70 for t-ball (ages 4-5) and rookie (ages 5-7) and $105 for upper divisions. The Challenger Division for kids with disabilities is free.

Sign-ups will also be held Nov. 23 from 8 a.m. to noon and 3:30-5 p.m., also at Stauffer Middle School. Tryouts are scheduled for Jan. 10 and Jan. 17; children ages 8 and older must tryout.
