Linda Fernandez

March 26, 1923 – May 16, 2022

Longtime Downey resident Linda Fernandez passed away at the age of 99 on May 16, 2022. Linda was born in 1923 in New Mexico. The family moved to Downey in 1948 where she resided for 74 years.

She and her husband, Jess, raised two sons. Linda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She worked as a fragrance consultant at The Broadway department store. Her hobbies included gardening and jewelry making. The family was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish.

Linda’s husband Jess and son Jess Jerome preceded her in death. She is survived by her son Ronald and wife, Barbara; daughter-in-law, Norma Fernandez; grandchildren Desiree Williams, Jess Lawrence Fernandez, Katie Fillingame, Jackie Fernandez and great grandchildren Jess Robert, Joshua, Calvin and Nathan.

Linda’s funeral mass will be held June 6, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 10727 Downey Ave, Downey, CA 90241.
