Letters to the Editor - Pasta and Presto

Dear Editor:Every year at the end of February, the Warren Band and Color Guard hosts an event we like to call "Pasta and Presto." This fundraiser is not your typical fundraiser because it is a wonderful opportunity for anyone to enjoy a very "cheap" but fun and entertaining night out. Tomorrow, Feb. 21, you are welcome to come enjoy a spaghetti dinner and performance by seven different ensembles. Starting at 5:30 p.m., the Warren High School band will be serving a spaghetti dinner to anyone who purchases a ticket for a mere $7. The food is great and donated by local businesses such as Olive Garden, Frantone's, Pina Pizza, and more. Band students will serve as your waiters as you enjoy a wonderful meal for a very modest price. While eating, the Warren jazz bands will entertain you. Then, at 7 p.m., the Presto portion begins. The WHS wind ensemble, concert band, percussion ensemble, and winter guard will perform in the gymnasium. This year special guests Griffiths and West middle school bands will be joining the festivities so everyone can see how music is thriving at all levels of the DUSD. On a final note, you will get to see and experience our wonderful newly-renovated cafeteria -- it is an outstanding facility! Be one of the first to see and enjoy this wonderful new space on the Warren campus. Don't miss out, $7 for a spectacular evening night out! Please come join us. Please park in the large main parking lot located on Paramount Boulevard and walk directly into the center of the school where you will find the cafeteria and gym. - David Niemeyer, Band Director, Warren High School Editor's note: For more information, call David Niemeyer at (562) 869-7306, ext. 5616, or e-mail dniemeyer@dusd.net. ********** Published: February 20, 2009 - Volume 7 - Issue 44
