Letter to the Editor: Veterans housing project

Dear Editor:

It was nice to read Councilman Sean Ashton admit what Mayor Rick Rodriguez and the rest of the city council would not: that the veterans housing project is indeed a homeless shelter.

Instead of building the shelter in its own community, Downey is dumping it in Hollydale, without assurances that it will be properly funded or managed. It’s shameful.
