Letter to the Editor: treatment of veterans vs. immigrants

Dear Editor: 

I saw a bumper sticker years ago which read "Why doesn't the government make getting welfare as hard to get as a building permit?" 

I'd like to see a new one: "Why doesn't the government treat veterans as well as they do illegal immigrants?" 

Thank you to all who have served and their families. And to families who have lost a soldier, I know thanks will never be enough, but thank you.
