Letter to the Editor: Traffic synchronization

Dear Editor:

Does Downey employ professionals to synchronize traffic lights? It doesn’t appear so.

If the argument is there are simply too many cars or we must hold cars back for ridiculously long periods for better traffic flow, that doesn’t hold water. Visit the mess at Florence and Studebaker for one of many examples.

Someone isn’t doing what they are paid to do. Also, if it’s all due to a funding issue from the state to work with adjacent cities, that isn’t working.

I believe the problem is Downey’s engineering department. You have to do your job. They are not.
