Letter to the Editor: Street descriptions

Dear Editor:

I thank the County for its suggestions on what Downey can do to improve its park system.
I do not thank the Patriot though, for not being able to report those suggestions in prose that most of the residents can understand.

Specifically, the passage: "...the construction of a new park in the area of "very high need" north of State Route 42 between Paramount and State Route 19."

Do State Route 42, and 19, have actual names that appear on such mundane things as "street signs"?

I can't imagine the last time I told someone that to get where they wished to go they needed to travel down SR-42; probably because I never have. Now, telling them to just go east on Firestone to x, is something else.
