Letter to the Editor: School construction
Dear Editor:
I am inquiring about the fact that the schools have no restrictions or guidelines with construction.
The school board has tacitly allowed the contractors to do whatever they want to do. School started and children and their teachers are having to go to school in a dangerous, highly toxic environment.
They started work in June and have uncovered dirt, opened trenches, and brought in heavy equipment, which they operate before 8 a.m., not respecting the neighborhood in any way.
I would like to see some semblance of order over at Griffiths and Maude Price. I called the city of Downey Planning Department and the inspector said there is nothing they can do.
