Letter to the Editor: Late-night speeders

Dear Editor:

Imagine the revenue that could be generated by having the Downey Police Department place officers with radar guns on Florence Avenue, and especially Lakewood Boulevard, in the late evening hours.

Living near both streets, the sound of racing engines can be clearly heard every day of the week. Avoiding Lakewood at all times has become the norm for all drivers in our home.

Let’s return to the days of putting safety first to avoid placing so many in harm’s way.
