Letter to the Editor: Janice Hahn's priorities

Dear Editor:

Janice Hahn would serve her constituents well if she concentrated on issues that affect our daily lives, such as homelessness, traffic congestion, air quality, affordable housing, etc. rather than the gender of firefighters.

When women’s physiology is such that they have the upper body strength to perform the duties of the position, then they should be given consideration, but to suggest that the LA County Fire Chief increase female hiring for purely statistical purposes is foolhardy.
