Letter to the Editor: In defense of Ojos Locos
Dear Editor:
We would like to correct some misinformation included in recent news coverage about the new Ojos Locos Sports Cantina opening in Downey.
We are a restaurant and sports bar serving wings, Tex-Mex items, sandwiches, and more, and like similarly positioned sports bar restaurants with female servers, our standard uniform includes skorts and t-shirts. The picture posted with a recent newspaper article was misleading in suggesting that our servers wear lingerie as their uniforms. This is not the case.
In addition, a quote in that article suggested that our restaurants are known for attracting criminal behavior and even biker gangs. This is simply not true and apparently the person who said this must have confused our concept with that of a different brand. Since this will be our first California location, for someone to make such statements that are not factual, puts us in a negative light, one that we do not deserve.
Ojos Locos is proud to support each individual community we serve, and we work collaboratively with members of each community to adhere to local requirements and preferences. This has been the case in Downey and will continue to be as we work to bring our concept to Downey with great food, excellent service, and an exciting atmosphere, all while adding 120 new jobs to the Downey community.
Rick Van Warner on behalf of Ojos Locos
