Letter to the Editor: Funding for Alzheimer's research

Dear Editor:

I am writing to show my appreciation to Congresswoman Roybal-Allard for being a champion in the fight to end Alzheimer’s.

Alzheimer’s is the most expensive disease in the country, with more than 5 million Americans living with the disease. Thankfully, in the most recent budget agreement, bipartisan leaders have made funding Alzheimer’s and dementia research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) a priority, by increasing the federal investment in research funding to $2.8 billion a year.

New funding is providing researchers with the resources they need to make discoveries that can lead to improved treatments and, hopefully, eventually a cure.

Thank you, Congresswoman Roybal-Allard.
