Dear Editor:

What’s to make of the fine, upstanding citizens of Downey? Do we love President Joe Biden or ex-President Donald Trump? Who knows?

One thing we do know with absolute certainty is that we love our trash. Parking lots and roads are littered with refuse. Styrofoam food trays repose in most parking lots, frequently within walking distance of a trash can.

The bad part is parents are teaching their children to handle trash in the same way.

It is sad that a problem that is so solvable continues to exist simply because people are lazy.
