Letter to the Editor: Dirty skate park

Dear Editor:

I am very disappointed in the city of Downey. 

We took our 6-year-old to Independence Park skate park on Bellflower Blvd. and it was so filthy. We had to pick up all kinds of trash, bottles and glass in order for our son to skate in a small section. It is unbelievable how dirty it is. 

As I write this there is a guy attempting to clean all the little pieces of glass so he can skate without worrying about getting cut. I have several pictures of how dirty it is. Just sad.
