Letter to the Editor: Defending Hillary

Dear Editor:

It is apparent that Martha Morrissy-Call feels that Hillary Clinton should be raked over the coals continually for mishandling her emails, and for allegedly causing the deaths of four people in Benghazi.

In regards to the emails, FBI Director James B. Comey (a lifelong Republican) concluded that nothing illegal was done in Clinton’s handling of her emails. Subsequently, the Justice Department accepted his conclusions and formally closed the investigation.

As for Benghazi, the House Select Committee on Benghazi, which was chaired by Rep. Trey Gowdy (a Republican from South Carolina) spent 17 months and $4.5 million of taxpayer money only to conclude that Clinton’s actions before, during or after the Sept. 11, 2012 attack weren’t to blame for the incident.

Ms. Morrissy-Call should look at the bright side; perhaps her candidate, Donald Trump, will win in November. I’ll bet she can just see him sitting in the Oval Office with his feet up on the desk, smoking a victory cigar.
