Letter to the Editor: Buying votes

Dear Editor:

President Obama must be joking!

He tells us how much the countries of the world respect the U.S. Mr. President, they like what you’re allowing them to get away with. Interesting that he’s wanting to lift sanctions on Russia if Putin will not attack the Ukraine anymore. The countries fighting ISIS are desperate for American help, so what happens? ISIS captures the American military equipment we left there. Someone needs to tell Obama “The emperor has no clothes.”

So Lindsey Graham wants to be president! In his announcement, he said that he would raise taxes if he had to, to keep Social Security solvent. May I make a suggestion to avoid raising taxes? Social Security and Medicare benefits paid to millions of illegal aliens that Obama wants to legalize will cost about $1.3 trillion on the assumption illegal aliens will receive legal status under deferred action. Also, they would receive $7.8 billion every year once they get access to the refundable (unearned) earned income tax credit. And refundable additional child tax credit recipients will also be allowed to claim credit for three years of illegal work, which would cost the U.S. taxpayers another $23.5 billion, according to Robert Rector of the Heritage Foundation. This was confirmed by IRS Commissioner John Koskinen, who told Congress that illegal immigrants who didn’t pay taxes or who used fake Social Security numbers will be able to claim back refunds once they get Society Security numbers and Koskinen said he didn’t know how much that will cost.

All this when 93 million are unemployed in the U.S. and the U.S. is importing cheap labor to take other jobs. The agency charged with approving Obama’s amnesty is preparing to process at least 4 million pieces of mail. U.S. citizenship and immigration services has already started to hire several hundred new employees to train them. Luke Bellocci, a former deputy ombudsman for USCIS, told the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee “It’s going to be hard to tell how much fraud there will be.” There is so much more to this!
So Sen. Graham, maybe sending these illegals home and if their family wants to be together, let them all go. Then you won’t have to raise taxes to pay for Social Security.

Guess one could write a book on politicians who will spend our tax money to buy votes. Newly-elected Sen. Tony Mendoza was barely in office when he wanted a statewide facilities bond to increase funding for school infrastructure. Not long ago a bond was passed for Cerritos College, and Downey passed a 30-year bond for education when 39% of the students don’t even live in Downey. Maybe more emphasis should be on what is taught, as California ranks 47th in the U.S. even though I’m sure the teachers try valiantly.

So not only will our federal and state taxes go up, so will taxes on our homes.
