Letter to the Editor: 28th Amendment
Dear Editor:
Every day in my mail are 5-10 letters demanding help of some kind and donations of money. I cannot help everyone, and I don’t intend to try.
It is my decision to concentrate on one, the most important (to me), the 28th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States: The limit of terms for Congress.
I was put in charge of the City of Downey and the 40th area of the state of California. It was with great pride and pleasure that I accepted this appointment.
I have had many letters from Congressmen offering their help. I am donating money for this one election.
The latest and most important said that he had introduced legislation into Congress and would have the members vote in public, on TV. So, we’re started. We don’t have to have 100%. We just need 2/3 of the House and 2/3 of the Senate, then it goes to the states for ratification.
I am 99 years old. My birthday is July 1, and I will be 100 years old. Wouldn’t this 28th amendment be a terrific birthday present?
