LAPD union endorses Gil Legaspi

DOWNEY – Gil Legaspi, candidate for Downey City Council District 3, has received the endorsement of the Los Angeles Police Protective League, an organization that represents over 9,200 sworn officers.

In an email to Legaspi confirming support for his candidacy, Craig D. Lally, President of the LAPPL stated:

“The Los Angeles Police Protective League is proud to endorse Gil Contreras Legaspi for Downey City Council because we believe he’s not only highly qualified, but that he is the best choice for public safety. As a Veteran police officer, Gil has a deep understanding of the issues that impact law enforcement officials and his integrity and experience set him apart. We know Gil will be a strong advocate for improving neighborhood security in Downey and we look forward to helping him in his campaign”

Legaspi is a sworn reserve police officer, and has made public safety the top priority in his campaign.

“I am truly humbled by the support of my fellow officers at the LAPPL. As Downey’s council member for District 3, I will bring a tireless approach to ensuring the safety of our residents,” Legaspi said.

The special election for Downey City Council, District 3, is on Nov. 7.
