Judge to give commencement speech at Cerritos

NORWALK - Cerritos College will hold its 54th annual commencement ceremony to honor its graduating students on May 14 at 5 p.m. in Falcon Stadium.The college's Board of Trustees will present degrees and certificates earned during the 2010-11 academic year. This year's commencement speaker is Peter Espinoza, supervising judge for Los Angeles Superior Court. He received his undergraduate degree from San Francisco State University and juris doctorate from UCLA School of Law. Espinoza has been a supporter of Cerritos College for many years and has served on the Cerritos College Foundation board of directors since 2002. In 2004, he and his siblings, all of whom graduated from Cerritos College, founded a scholarship to support aspiring teachers. No tickets are required for the ceremony. Gates will open at 3:30 p.m.
