Josephine Luciano

July 11, 1933 - September 26, 2020

Josephine Luciano was the Third child born to Italian immigrants, Eduardo and Maria Luciano on July 11, 1933 in Lansdale, PA. She grew up during the Great Depression. Since money and food were scarce her mother made clothes out of potato sacks and fed the family dandelion soup. Josephine experienced racism at a young age. She was thrown in a closet many times at school by her German teacher who resented her for being Italian. At 16 she married and had a daughter of her own at 17. She bought her first house at 19. In 1955 They decided to head out west and bought a house in Downey, CA. Years later she was hired as a librarian at the infamous Rockwell International. A short time after she was divorced she met Gilberto Roblez and fell in love. They were married until his passing in 2008. Josephine passed away in her home on September 26, 2020. Services will be held at Rose Hills on Oct 19, 2020 @ 1pm.
