Jorge Orozco leaving Rancho for LAC+USC Medical Center
DOWNEY -- Jorge Orozco, chief executive officer at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center, announced Wednesday he was resigning to accept the same job at L.A. County-USC Medical Center.
"Although this was a very difficult decision, the opportunity to serve the community where I was raised and to help transform an already great institution into a world-class organization is one that I could not pass up," Orozco wrote in a letter announcing his departure.
Orozco worked at Rancho Los Amigos in various capacities for the 29 years. He had served as CEO since 2007.
"Like Rancho, LAC+USC Medical Center represents a personal commitment to serve a community that has given me so much," Orozco said. "It provides care to my family and friends, it inspired me to become a physical therapist when I volunteered there at age 18."
Orozco's letter didn't indicate when his last day at Rancho would be.
