Jon Kelly Lang
October 22, 1958 - November 12, 2020
Jon Kelly Lang, 62, a lifelong resident of Downey, succumbed to a three-year battle with cancer on November 12, 2020. He founded Lang Construction Services, Inc. and successfully operated it for 37 years, serving many within the City of Downey and the surrounding area.
As a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served two years as a missionary in Vancouver, Canada. Jon also served within the Church in many capacities such as Young Men’s President, Bishop, Stake President, and Patriarch.
He was an avid participant in the Boy Scouts of America. He was awarded their highest rank, that of the Silver Beaver, for his service to the Organization. Jon also participated within the City of Downey including Keep Downey Beautiful, for many years.
He is survived by the greatest accomplishments in his life, his sweetheart and eternal companion of 38 years, Elisa (Snow) Lang; and his loving children, Tiffany (Steve) Jenks, Joshua (Brittani) Lang, Ryan (Denise) Lang, Kyle (Liv) Lang, and 11 adoring grandchildren; mother-in-law, Lorna (House) Snow, sisters, Alyson (Richard) Tyner, and Kirstin (David) Wood, aunts D. Verdene Kornegay and Ida Mae Stallcup, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Predeceasing Jon are his parents: James L. Lang and Mary Lou (Davis) Lang, and two brothers, Mark K. Lang, and D. Scott Lang.
Services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 17500 Bushard Street, Fountain Valley, California 92708 on November 19, 2020 at 11:00 am. Family viewing was at 10:00 am. Regretfully, due to COVID-19 restrictions, funeral service attendance is by invitation only. The family would like to thank you for your understanding. Interment was at Rose Hills Cemetery, 3888 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, California 90601. Mortuary services provided by Allen-English-Estrada Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the Lang Family requests a donation to the American Cancer Society.
