Dear Editor: I’m curious on why we only get Time Warner in Downey. Is there a reason why we are stuck with only them in our city and why we have no competitors to help our citizens that are being swindled by this company?

The reason why I’m emailing you guys over my representation in Downey is because I trust news sources still try to help the citizens.

Editor’s note: The City of Downey responded to the letter and says that when the legislature passed the Digital Infrastructure and Video Competition Act in 2009, they removed cities’ ability to regulate cable TV providers.
