Healthy Downey 5K now accepting pre-registration

DOWNEY – Pre-registration is now being taken for the third annual Healthy Downey 5K Run/Walk, scheduled for April 18 at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center. Last day to pre-register is April 5. The cost is $20 for kids ages 5-18 and $30 for adults ages 19 and older. Registration includes a commemorative T-shirt.

Same-day registration is $30 for kids and $40 for adults, and does not include a T-shirt.

Check-in begins at 6:15 a.m., and opening ceremonies and warm-up start at 7:30. The run/walk begins at 8 a.m.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the TLC Family Resource Center, which provides resources to students and families of the Downey Unified School District.

Water stations will be located throughout the course. There will also be food, health booths, and more.

Strollers are welcome, but pets are not allowed (except for service animals). The event will go on rain or shine.
