'Grapes of Wrath' on stage in Cerritos

NORWALK - The Cerritos College Theatre Department will present "The Grapes of Wrath," a story of the Joad family and their migration west during the Great Depression of the 1930s, beginning March 5 at the campus's Burnight Studio Theatre.Directed by John Zamora, the play was adapted from the classic novel of John Steinbeck by Frank Galati. The drama about one family's struggle during the Depression and their choice to move west in search of a better life may ring true for audiences in the economic woes felt by the state and country. "The Grapes of Wrath" opens March 5 for a two-week run. Tickets are $12 general admission; $10 for students, seniors and Cerritos College faculty; and $8 for children ages 5-12 (parental discretion is advised).
