Gil Legaspi reports raising $50K in first month of campaign

DOWNEY — Downey City Council District 3 candidate Gil Contreras Legaspi has ended this first fundraising period with $50,471 collected in just one month since announcing his campaign in June.

“I am extremely humbled to have the trust and backing of so many neighbors, friends, businesses, and stakeholders,” said Legaspi. “We’re just getting started. We are going to take advantage of this momentum and meet voters where they are to let them know why our platform is the right one for Downey.”

Legaspi is running for the open council seat in District 3 left vacant following the recall of Catherine Alvarez.

Legaspi has received a number of endorsements from elected officials and community members, including:
