Gas prices again rise to record highs
DOWNEY (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Wednesday to a record high for the 12th time in 13 days while the Orange County average price set a record for the 10th time since Feb. 3.
The Los Angeles County average price rose for the 16th time in 17 days, increasing seven-tenths of a cent to $4.779. It has risen 11.1 cents over the past 17 days, including seven-tenths of a cent Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
It is 3.3 cents more than one week ago, 10.1 cents higher than one month ago and $1.226 more than one year ago.
The Orange County average price rose 1 cent to $4.755, one day after increasing seven-tenths of a cent. It is 2.7 cents more than one week ago, 10.2 cents higher than one month ago and $1.214 greater than one year ago.
