Gardening workshop Saturday

DOWNEY - A "smart gardening" workshop will be offered Saturday at Wilderness Park from 9:30-11:30 a.m.The workshop, which will be held inside the park building, will offer instruction on backyard composting, worm composting, grass recycling, and water-wise and fire-wise gardening techniques. Compost and worm bins will be available for purchase for $40 for compost bins and $65 for worm bins (cash or check only). The workshop is free but there is a $2 parking charge beginning at 9 a.m. For more information, call the city's recycling office at (562) 904-7103.
