Gang members arrested in Chuck E. Cheese shooting
PICO RIVERA – Two brothers have been arrested in connection with a shooting at a Pico Rivera Chuck E. Cheese that narrowly missed children and adults inside the restaurant. The shooting occurred Sept. 28 after a dispute in the parking lot involving suspected gang members. Nobody was hurt.
Sheriff’s officials announced last week that investigators arrested brothers Jesse Ortiz, 33, and Jimmy Ortiz, 31. Both are from Pico Rivera and have ties to an area gang, authorities said.
Detectives also detained two potential victims, who were later released.
“Investigators discovered the two suspects were the aggressors in the incident and initiated the shooting,” sheriff’s officials said in a news release.
Bail for Jimmy Ortiz was set at $2 million. Jesse Ortiz is being held on $1 million bail.
