Frometa appointed to statewide public safety committee

DOWNEY — Councilmember Claudia M Frometa has been appointed vice-chair of the Public Safety Committee for the League of California cities, representing California's 482 towns and cities.

The League of California Cities (CAL Cities) advocates on the issues that matters most to Californians.

Cal Cities takes positions on hundred of legislative bills annually and their advocacy efforts extend to the appellate courts. The organization weighs in on legal issues where its participation is likely to help adjacent the legal interests of all California cities.

Frometa has previously served on the Public Safety Committee as well as the Governance, Transparency and Labor Relations Committee.

About her appointment as vice-chair to the Public Safety Committee, Frometa said, "I am honored and humbled to represent not just the residents of Downey but throughout California on issues pertaining to our public safety. I look forward to engaging with fellow colleagues to promote initiatives and bills that increase our public safety."
