Former Downey mayors endorse Hector Sosa for City Council
DOWNEY – Downey City Council candidate Hector Sosa has secured the endorsement of the Downey Former Mayors Coalition.
The coalition is a collection of former Downey mayors, including Dr. Roger Brossmer, Kirk Cartozian, Alex Saab, Dn. Mario A. Guerra, Keith McCarthy, and Rick Rodriguez.
“Downey is at the crossroads and Hector Sosa is what we need to get our city back on the right track,” said Dr. Brossmer
All told, the coalition has more than 44 years experience serving on the Downey City Council.
“Getting the support from this group of dedicated former Downey mayors means they understand the importance of backing a candidate with a proven track record of service to the community” said Sosa.
“I’ve spent over 15 years as a volunteer coach and board member for West Downey Little League and DJAA; President of Gangs Out Of Downey (GOOD); president elect of Downey Los Amigos Kiwanis; English literacy tutor for the Downey City Library; youth ministries teacher at Calvary Chapel Downey and college student mentor at Cal State University of Los Angeles Business School. I look forward to continuing that service to my community on the City Council.”
As past president of Gangs Out of Downey, Sosa has made public safety a priority in his campaign, along with fiscal responsibility, supporting small businesses, and community outreach.
“Hector Sosa will provide much needed stability to our city government and city council,” said former councilman Saab. “Hector is the only candidate with a proven track record of service to Downey. His record shows he will always put the best interests of the community first by working with all stakeholders. He will be a positive voice for all residents and businesses of Downey.”
