Fishing lessons at state beach

LOS ANGELES - Both children and adults are invited to free shore fishing classes at Dockweiler State Beach. Fishing poles and bait will be provided at no cost. Anglers typically catch surfperch, croaker, corbina, halibut and leopard shark.All ages are welcome but children 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Participants over age 16 must present a valid California fishing license. A list of retailers that sell fishing licenses is available online at www.calicensetofish.com. Fishing classes will be given June 12, June 19, June 26, July 10 and July 17. Classes are from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Pre-registration is required by calling (310) 726-4128.
