Financial Planning Association

Local certified financial planner Janet Larsen met with Sen. Tony Mendoza in Sacramento last week as part of the Financial Planning Association Advocacy Day to promote financial literacy through classes, seminars and offering pro-bono financial advice.

Twenty-one members of the Financial Planning Association met with California state representatives to offer resources for community activities and to help establish effective consumer protection. Larsen represented Downey as a member of the Advocacy Committee of the Orange County Chapter of the FPA.

“We are working with Sen. Mendoza and Assemblymember Cristina Garcia to find ways to provide financial education and advice for individuals and families in need,” said Larsen, a financial planner with First Step.

Larsen provides financial planning and wealth management in conjunction with Strayer, Saylors & Associates.
