Emma Schwarz

Emma Schwarz was born Emma Elizabeth Mosier August 3, 1924 on a farm outside of Van Wert, Ohio to Arley and Mimmie Mosier. She succumbed to congestive heart failure on January 8, 2014 at the age of 90 while at home surrounded by family. The eighth of ten children, she was the last surviving of her siblings. When Emma was 18, she moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana working for the local electric company. Soon, two of her sisters moved to Los Angeles and six months later she joined them in California. While working as a drive-in carhop, she met Glenmore Schwarz and after three weeks they wed on April 10, 1950. In 1953, they bought a house under construction in a new development in Downey and have lived in the same house ever since. All three children graduated from Warren High School, as well as 6 of their grandchildren. After her husband retired, they enjoyed traveling and cruising throughout the U.S., Europe, Central and South America, Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. She will be missed.
