Downey woman accepted into U.S. Naval Academy

DOWNEY -- Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard congratulated Katerina Kennedy, of Downey, last week on her appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy.

As Kenndy’s congresswoman, Roybal-Allard said she was “honored to nominate her for this prestigious opportunity.” 

During their meeting at the congresswoman’s district office, Roybal-Allard presented Kenny with a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition. Kennedy was joined at the meeting by her mother, Tyna Kennedy. 

Kennedy is a graduate of Cornelia Connelly School in Anaheim.
