Downey Symphony: Seen at the scene

Katie Hare and Marie Eckstrom of the Downey Symphony Guild present a check for $15,000.00 to Sharon Lavery, Music Director of the Downey Symphony Orchestra and the Downey Symphonic Society to help fund the orchestra and the Music in the Schools program.

2015 Baton Auction winner, Jess Zakira Wise, with her grandmother Joyce Osborn (her grandfather was the Symphony’s previous music director, Tom Osborn); Carolyn Osborn, orchestra concertmaster; Sharon Lavery, music director of the Orchestra; and Mark Artusio, principal bass player and Orchestra manager.

The Board of Directors of the Downey Symphonic Society congratulates Sharon Lavery, music director of the Downey Symphony Orchestra, on her immense success conducting Oscar Navarro’s “Downey Overture” with the Performance Honors Series Band at Carnegie Hall on Feb. 22.
