Downey Sister Cities doubles its membership

DOWNEY — Downey Sister Cities hosted its winter party Jan. 15 at Pina Pizza with “record-breaking” attendance. 

Downey Sister Cities is reporting a renewed interest in its organization, doubling its membership in the past two years. 

New member Juan Bosco Robleto is taking the lead in reviving a dormant sister city in Costa Rica, and Carrie Uva is helping to organize a future sister city in Italy. 

The group is also planning a trip to Efrat, Israel, in June. 

Downey Sister Cities meets the third Wednesday of each month from 6-7 p.m. in the Crawford Room at the Barbara j. Riley Center.
