Downey Razorbacks open training camp Monday

DOWNEY – The Downey Razorbacks will open training camp Monday at Discovery Sports Complex, marking the official opening of the 2021 season.

The Razorbacks are returning after a 20-month hiatus due to Covid-19 restrictions. This season marks their 61st year of youth football in Downey.

Training camp is free and open to the public. The first game of the season is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 11; all home games are played at Downey and Warren high schools.

The Razorbacks are part of the SCEYFL-AAU conference which is comprised of 27 member associations located throughout Southern California. The AAU Super Bowl will be held at Sofi Stadium on Nov. 26.

As part of a fundraiser, the Razorbacks are selling tickets for a VIP tour of the stadium that day from 9 am to 5 pm. Tickets are $20.
