DOWNEY — Two Downey residents were arrested in Mesquite, Nev., last Friday after police discovered them in possession of drugs and counterfeit money.

A police officer stopped David Garcia, 32, and Ines Moro-Martinez, 37, for traffic violations and observed them trying to conceal something inside their car, officials said.

A police canine was called and alerted officers to the scent of illegal drugs. Officers said they found methamphetamine and 58 counterfeit $100 bills.

Garcia and Moro-Martinez were booked into the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas. Their relationship to each other is unclear.
